Also adapted from a Greek God, Vulcan (aka Haphaestus) was the son of Juno (aka Hera) and Jupiter (aka Zeus). Born on Mount Olympus, he was quite literally cast off by his mother because of his ugliness. Juno threw him down to earth, where he was badly injured, but was rescued by sea nymphs. They were able to restore him back to health, but couldn’t completely fix his broken legs, and he retained a limp forever.

One of his attributes is metalworking, which is why his symbol is a blacksmith’s hammer.
