CALL FOR PROPOSALS

Calling all Classics Students!

Classics Continuum is an annual online conference led by high school students, for high school students. Our goal is to create a forum where people can come together to celebrate, debate, share, and collaborate, with the goal of promoting access to the classics. This year, we will be hosting the Continuum on Saturday, May 17th at 11 AM.

We are seeking applications from high school students interested in presenting at this year’s conference. Presentations may take the form of a lecture or talk, an interview or panel, a translation, reading, short film, discussion, or any other format that supports classical exploration

We are particularly interested in presentations that address this year’s theme: Navigating Classical Storytelling: Tales of the Past, Stories of Today

Presentations can include a wide variety of topics. Are you interested in how Ovid differentiated from Livy? What about similarities between Latin and Greek poetry? Classical influences on philosophy, rhetoric, or debate? How Gender roles were explored and displayed by different authors? Who got to tell stories? We want to hear!

Presentations should be no more than 10 minutes long, and proposal submissions are due by email by Friday, April 11th. After this we will take next steps to have final presentations due.

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!

Best,

The 2025 Classics Continuum Committee
